Low-E glass is also called Low radiation coated glass; it is one kind of special glass which coated with multilayer of very low surface radiation rate of metal or other compounds. Low-E glass is a kind of green, energy-saving, environmental friendly glass products. Normal glass surface radiation rate is about 0.84, Low-E glass surface radiation is at 0.25 below. This kind of very thin film of low radiation rate coating with thickness less than one percent of the hair thickness has very high reflective rate against far infrared radiation, more than 80% of the infrared radiation can be reflected back, while ordinary transparent float glass in the far infrared reflectance is only around 12%, so Low-E glass has good blocking radiation through role. The reflectance to visible light of Low-E glass is similar with common clear glass, it is below 11%, lower than ordinary light control coated glass, can avoid the reflected light pollution.
The high penetration type of LOW-E glass is a kind of glass window with high performance and energy efficient, and can prevent heat flow with invisible layer. Since the heat always flows from one end with high temperature to another end with low temperature, the winter heat flows easily from indoors to outdoors, and is opposite to that in summer. The coated layer of online low emissivity (LOW-E) coated glass film can effectively prevent heat loss. In winter, sunlight can enter into the interior through the glass and keep the heat obtained from sunlight and heating installation, and prevent heat from flowing to the exterior and make the interior more warm and comfortable. In summer, it can prevent the exterior heat entering the room, and it can improve the refrigeration performance of the indoor air conditioning and reduce living cost.
